On October 29, 2015, 18 representatives of Issyk-Kul Oblast CSOs attended a seminar on the theme "Why Do Projects Need PR and Working with Media?" According to Maria Lichanyu, employee of Public Union “Ulumkan-Daryger”, such seminars are necessary for CSOs because there are some problems in interaction between media and CSOs: “First, financial problems – not all media agree to publish materials free of charge; secondly, the incompetence of journalists in the area in which the organization operates. Also, little common ground of civil society organizations and the media, NGOs also do not know the specifics of the media, the lack of personal contact with journalists. Civic organizations do not conduct special events for the media. Journalists are bridges between citizens and CSO activities, so it is necessary to establish interaction with them.”
